Church Pianist & Accompanist / Organist
Approximately 7-10 hours weekly; paid monthly

Reports to: Director of Music and Senior Pastor Effective: 9/1/2025
Directly Supervises: None
Status: Part-Time
FLSA: Exempt
Salary Range: $13,000 - $15,600/year commensurate with experience

Job Summary
Serves as the primary pianist & accompanist / organist for Sunday morning and Wednesday evening services, and accompanies the Sanctuary Choir and other musical groups as part of the worship experience for Faith United Methodist Church’s members and visitors. Organ is a 1985 Gould with 2 Manuals.

Required Qualifications:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in music, church music, or related field, or 2 years working in a church music setting
Ability to read music and excellent piano &/or organ skills, audition required

Essential Functions:
Consult regularly with the Director of Music and Pastor(s) for the purpose of planning and coordinating worship services and music program activities as part of a blended or contemplative service
Prepare and play assigned church hymns on piano &/or organ for Sunday morning and Wednesday evening services
Accompanies sanctuary choir rehearsals on Wednesday evenings
Assists in Sanctuary Choir warm-up on Sunday mornings
Accompanies special music and soloists, as needed
Provide musical support and consultation for weddings and funerals (paid separately, not part of compensation)
Plays for special services including: Christmas Eve (2 services), Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday &/or Good Friday, and Easter (if more than one service)
Familiarity with Google Suite
Communicates effectively with church staff, other musical groups, and congregation
Practice time: Coordinate practice time on organ with other church activities (if applicable)

Physical Requirements: Light work: occasionally lift 11-25 pounds; frequently lift 1-10 pounds; constantly negligible weight.
