It’s a time to slow down and re-center ourselves in the midst of the week — to remember that we are the people of God, called to be a loving, healing, and justice-seeking presence in the world. We find calm in meditative music, we center ourselves in prayer and silent meditation, and we experience scripture in a new way when we read it side by side with contemporary or ancient poetry. We light candles to remember those who have gone before us, to send healing prayers for those who need healing, encouragement, or justice and to express our commitment to continue listening to God’s will in our lives.

You are welcome to participate at whatever level you want to participate! You may want to slip in quietly and simply let the liturgy and prayers wash over you. You may want to join in the communal prayers. You may want to participate in leading the service by lighting candles, leading prayers and choosing readings.

The Wednesday evening services continue through May and then take a break for the summer.

On Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 7 p.m., we gather for a casual, contemplative worship service in poetry, scripture, and silent and spoken prayer.
