On Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 7 p.m., we gather for a casual, contemporary worship service in song, poetry, scripture, and silent and spoken prayer. It’s a time to slow down and recenter ourselves in the midst of the week—to remember that we are the people of God, called to be a loving, healing, and justice-seeking presence in the world. We find calm in meditative music, we center ourselves in prayer and silent meditation, and we experience scripture in a new way when we read it side by side with contemporary or ancient poetry. We light candles to remember those who have gone before us, to send healing prayers for those who need healing, encouragement, or justice and to express our commitment to continue listening to God’s will in our lives.
You are welcome to participate at whatever level you want to participate! You may want to slip in quietly and simply let the liturgy and song wash over you without uttering a word. You may want to join in the singing and the communal prayers. You may want to participate in leading the service by lighting candles, reading, leading prayers or songs, and even choosing readings or setting up the altar.
The Sanctuary Choir practice is at 7:15 p.m during the school year.
All women are welcome to join the Mary Martha Circle, which meets monthly on the third Wednesdays from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the Ebenezer Room. (The group does not meet during the summer.)
You're invited to join a group of men who meet at 8 a.m. on the second Saturday of each month for breakfast and fellowship. The Men's Breakfast meets at the Perkins on County Road D and Highway 88.
You're invited to join a group of women who meet at 9 a.m. on the first and third Saturdays of each month. We meet the Saturday at the church and the third Saturday at Perkins (County Rd D and Hwy 88). For the meetings at the church, people are invited to bring their own food and beverage.
Each month a group of volunteers of the church meets to do repairs and upgrade the church building and property. They enjoy a time of fellowship with coffee and a special treat, and they keep the church in its beautiful condition. The group gathers at 9 a.m. on the third Thursday of the month.
