Faith United Methodist Church is seeking a Director of Senior Ministry, a part-time position responsible for enhancing the lives of our senior members by programming and congregational care. The expectation is that the job would entail, on average, 12 hours a week, with considerable flexibility in work hours. Because the position involves service to the senior members of Faith UMC, extra consideration will be given to applicants who are a member or regular attendee of Faith UMC, who have a pastoral care experience or who have health care experience.

Pay: $20 to 22.50 per hour, based on qualifications.
Qualifications: Enjoys working with seniors and a talent for organization. Experience working with seniors, either in a paying position or a volunteer role, would be a plus.
Job Summary: The Seniors Coordinator will divide their time among a number of
potential responsibilities, including such things as member visitation, determining which members might need calls or visits, planning activities for members, book studies, etc. The specific responsibilities may vary in order to take advantage of the skills of the person selected for the position. For instance, if the successful applicant has a background in health care, ministering to the health needs of the congregation could become a focus of the position.
Specific responsibilities:
  •  Develop connections with the senior members and regular attendees of Faith UMC.
  •  Establish an advisory council of four to six members of the congregation to help in assessing needs and planning activities.
  •  Plan special events, generally one each quarter, and organize regular activities for our senior members,
  •  Set up a system in which the Seniors Coordinator and a group of volunteers determine which members of our congregation need regular visits and/or phone calls, and then devise a means of providing those contacts.
Other responsibilities:
 The work week will include Sunday morning worship services and Wednesday morning staff meetings.
