Two special music performances plus Christmas Eve services at 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. highlight the calendar for Advent at Faith UMC.

Faith UMC continues its commemoration of its 125th anniversary as a church through the end of December. The final special events are a cradle-rocking ceremony on Sunday, December 10, and cake and fellowship on December 17.


On Sunday, November 19, 2017, we had another celebration of our 125th anniversay.

Faith UMC members will be making and donating blankets in December to help the children at the Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery.

The Korean United Methodist Church, formerly of New Brighton, will be meeting at the Faith UMC building for the next several months. It has sold its former building and will move its worship services and other activities to Faith UMC while it is looking for a new building to make its home.

Faith UMC will engage in discussions this fall and winter on whether the church should become an “Altar for All” congregation and sanction same-sex marriages. A vote is planned for early 2018.

Twenty-three children took part in Eco-Kids Camp in early August, and they spent the week learning about the importance of trees in our environment.

As we do each year, we'll use our "Untrim the Christmas Tree" campaign to support three missions. The Christmas tree in the Commons area will have envelopes for donations hanging from its branches. Grab one, put your name (and offering number, if available) on the envelope and then place your donation in the offering during the worship service.

Another school year is here, and Faith UMC will continue to support the McVay Youth Partnership.

On Saturday, April 8, Faith UMC hosted a half-day workshop called “Discerning Whiteness: The Unacknowledged Barrier to Dismantling Racism” led by ASDIC Metamorphosis, a nonprofit that is bringing communities together and equipping them to address racism. Thirty people attended the event. Here's what they learned.
